Could overseas mortgages appeal to winter holidaymakers?

Securing an overseas mortgage and buying a property abroad may be a route down which frequent winter holidaymakers would like to travel.
Rather than pay out for a hotel for numerous trips, a second home in another country could provide the perfect base for vacations.
Eric Hutchins, general manager at Holidays By Rail, has identified some of the locations that are most popular among people who travel at this time of the year.
He noted Italy, Spain and the south of France are all great choices, largely thanks to the superior weather they offer compared with the UK.
"Wandering around Alhambra or strolling through Pompeii or Carcassonne is a welcome break during the off season," Mr Hutchins stated – and it could be one those with second homes enjoy on a regular basis.
Linda Travella, an estate agent for Casa Tevella, was recently quoted by International Estate Agent Today as suggesting Italy is a popular spot for those seeking overseas mortgages.
